He changed his job and fell prisoner

A man in his forties and known as El Rubio, or Can, a member of a family known for the business of sewing machines, was arrested yesterday along with other people, accused of money laundering and drug dealing . Gerardo C.'s declared activity was a concessionaire in San Nicolás, an area he knew inside out because, according to the Airport Security Police, he was the one who years ago acted as investor and front man for "Rengo" Insaurralde, a heavy drug trafficker from the western zone who is serving a sentence in Devotee. The curious thing is that the "investor", once the pandemic began, saw his activity diminish and went directly to selling drugs through a woman in Fonavi in the west, land of Dulce Abregú, also in prison. The activity took on such a dimension that he ended up moving from living with his parents at 3800 Pellegrini, to the Pilay complex in Palos Verdes where they raided him and seized a large number of high-priced watches, as well as high-end vehicles, including an Audi Q 5. and a Porsche Cayenne.

The drug trade investigation resulted in five raids in the cities of Rosario and San Nicolás. According to sources from the Airport Security Police (PSA), the operations, including a Buenos Aires concessionaire and an apartment in a well-known condominium, resulted in the seizure of a large amount of cash, high-end vehicles, watches , jewelry and electronics.

The spokespersons indicated that the proceedings were ordered by the head of Federal Court 3 of Rosario, Carlos Vera Barros in the framework of an investigation by the Federal Prosecutor's Office 2 of Rosario, in charge of Claudio Kishimoto and assistant prosecutor Franco Benetti, that began in 2019 on the main accused for drug sales.

He changed jobs and was imprisoned

Judicial sources indicated that this person was linked at the time to the Insaurralde clan, which was disrupted in 2017 with the arrest of 24 of its members, including its leader Ramón Javier “Rengo” Insaurralde, who were sentenced to between 3 and 18 years in prison in November 2020 by the federal Justice of Rosario.

The investigations consulted recognized that the pandemic stopped the measures and the suspect, who increased his assets considerably, began to try to give legal appearance to the money coming from the sale of drugs. He moved to the private neighborhood of San Sebastián in Funes and later lived in a luxurious apartment facing the river in Rosario, and then arrived in Palos Verdes, where the raids by PSA personnel took place last Thursday.

At this stage of the case that did not end, the Prosecutor's Office 2 and police spokesmen indicated that based on the evidence collected, the trade was used as a means to reconvert the profits obtained through illegal activity. In addition, the uniformed officers identified a person linked to the retail sale of drugs at Fonavi in Parque Oeste.

In this context, the five raids took place in two private homes, a garage, a condominium apartment and said car dealership.

The result was the confiscation of 365,730 pesos; $18,300; 172,000 guaraníes; six high-end cars and a motorcycle. 20 cell phones, seven digital cameras, among other electronic devices were also seized; a precision balance; 21 high-value watches; jewelry; and documentation of interest to the file, explained the sources, who did not indicate whether the main defendants were detained after having the investigative hearing in which they were informed of the crimes for which they are accused.

The case is in charge of Judge Carlos Vera Barros, and the Federal Prosecutor's Office No. 2 of Rosario, in charge of Claudio Kishimoto together with the auxiliary prosecutor Franco Benetti.

In November 2020, the Federal Criminal Oral Court 3 of Rosario had sentenced Ramón Insaurralde, leader of the clan that bears his name, to 18 years in prison for the crime of drug trafficking, in the form of trade and in an organized way. The court considered it proven that the defendants trafficked narcotics supplied from Lomas de Zamora in the “Vía Onda” neighborhoods in the southwestern zone and in Boulevard Segui and Suipacha. According to the prosecutor of the Federico Reynares Solari case, the investigation also proved how, after being arrested, Ramón Javier Insaurralde continued directing the organization from his place of detention, using other members as his executing arms, mainly his son Fernando Insaurralde and his nephew Brian Insaurralde.

On the other hand, from the analysis of the wiretaps it emerged that the private defense of Javier Insaurralde was holding conversations with his client that, in the opinion of the Attorney General's Office, would not be within the scope of professional secrecy, for which reason he requested that they be forwarded the actions corresponding to the Prosecutor's Office that investigated the case, in order to investigate the actions of the aforementioned professionals, Hernán Tasada and Mariano Scaglia, which was favorably received by the Court.
