In addition, another of the hallmarks of Eme Blau's articles are the stories they hide behind. "For me, jewelry is a way of expressing myself," summarizes Iris, who always baptizes her pieces with a name that has some meaning. For example, the "Moni" earrings - earrings with a donkey - were designed in homage to a donkey of the same name adopted by an animal shelter to which she wanted to allocate all the benefits. And the design of the «Chemical» model, earrings with a gas mask, was his way of celebrating that the members of his favorite group, My Chemical Romance, were reunited after being apart for ten years. Now he has in mind to design something in memory of his dog Kenzi. "He was my furry companion for fifteen years and I feel like he will always be with me."

With Davana

Iris studied the Image Laboratory at the Saturnino Montojo Institute, then worked managing the website and social networks for a fashion store in A Coruña, and from there she made the leap to Dávana, the handmade clothing and accessories brand founded by his then partner, Carlos Romero, and his parents, Eugenia Quintana and Jesús Romero. Now Iris and Carlos are no longer together, but the friendship remains. “We are like a family, we continue to go to the fairs together and we collaborate a lot”, the artisan comments with affection towards the Romero Quintanas.

Already detached from Dávana, she now hopes to make her way with Eme Blau, a name whose origins can be found in two of Iris's great passions: music and literature. "Eme's thing is because of the song M from Los Piratas, but also because of the first initial of the protagonist of my favorite book," reveals Iris, referring to Marina Blau, the character in the beautiful children's story Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafón.

Iris is also passionate about the surrealist photographs of Nicolás Bruno, the poems of Marwan, the music of Ricardo Arjona, Andrés Suárez or Vetusta Morla... And in general, everything that has to do with art. "Maybe it's something that comes from my family, because a lot of music was always heard in my house and my grandmother passed on the reading bug to me," explains Iris, who also sings and writes poetry, although she has not yet published or published dared to perform in public. "Who knows? Maybe one day I'll cheer up and try my luck," he says with dreamy eyes.

Raised in Caranza, a neighborhood that "prints character", she now makes her home in Rubalcava and assures that she loves living in Ferrol, because it is "a beautiful, quiet city, with impressive surroundings and where you always you can meet a familiar face on the street ». And when asked about the adventure to undertake, she responds with courage and courage. «Being autonomous is complicated, but you have to take risks. I want to be my own boss and always work on what I like best and what makes me happy».
