Justice dissolves marriage from Pandora's owners

Panamanian justice dissolved the marriage bond among entrepreneurs Rajesh Mohinani and Rina Aswani, arguing cruel, physical or psychic treatment by the husband.Both entrepreneurs dispute the Pandora stores, a brand that ironically is inspired by respect for women.

The Second Family Court, by Alba Flores Mussmanno, agreed to the divorce application of the businesswoman arguing the second cause of article 212 of the Family Code.

According to the divorce sentence 513, of December 2, 2020, Rajesh Mohinani carried out acts and behaviors aimed at causing emotional damage and low self -esteem to the plaintiff.

The court verified that the marriage experiences lived left the businesswoman deeply marked and caused a state of depression that forced her to seek professional help to overcome the difficult stage.

During the process it was established that the plaintiff depended in all the income generated by the family business and that when he was fired, he was at Mohinani's mercy, which added more tension to the situation he lived.

The plaintiff, however, could not prove the causes of extramarital relationship and absolute abandonment of husband's duties, because there were no reliable evidence to determine such facts.

The divorce judgment issued by the Court is susceptible to an appeal in the Superior Family Court.However, this decision becomes relevant to determine the person in charge of divorce and establish a pension for the damage caused, said a lawyer who preferred not to mention his name due to his proximity to the parties involved in the process.The distribution of goods, however, is another process called matrimonial economic regime.
