Bowser, King of the Koopas, moved from the Mushroom Kingdom to the real world, where he made his headquarters in an Antarctic castle. Bowser plans to steal Earth's treasures by using portals, which allow his Koopas to teleport anywhere in the world. Bowser plans to sell the treasures to pay for melting the Antarctic ice using hair dryers. Bowser captures Mario to stop him from messing up the plan, and it's up to Mario's brother Luigi to save him and one of the levels takes place in Mexico.
MayaQuest: The Mystery Trail

For many years, Earth has been protected from incoming meteorites by a space net. An incoming meteor in the path of a satellite causes a shuttle to be accidentally shot down in the Mexican jungles, with only a portion of the new laser firing codes transmitted to the Meteor Defense Network. The player is sent to traverse the jungles of the Yucatan peninsula, as well as pre-Hispanic ruins, to find and recover the pieces of the code with a limited amount of time before a meteor shower hits.

The player controls an on-screen character named Panama Joe (also known as Pedro), who moves them from room to room in the labyrinthine underground of the 16th century Aztec temple of Emperor Montezuma II, filled with enemies, obstacles, traps and dangers. The goal is to earn points by collecting jewels along the way. Panama Joe must find keys to open doors, collect and use equipment such as torches, swords, amulets, etc. without losing his life. Obstacles are laser gates, conveyor belts, disappearing floors, and campfires.
