What does the intro of 'The wheel of time' mean? The tapestry that explains the universe of the series
The medieval fantasy universe starring the Aes Sedai, the Dragon Reborn and the Dark One conquers viewers on its arrival on Amazon Prime Video. Based on the literary saga written by Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time continues in the footsteps of Game of Thrones, including the epic intro that accompanies each episode and from which some important keys can be extracted.
The opening shows us the construction of a tapestry to form the image of seven women located in a circle. "In a world where hope can take you far, but magic takes you further, our title sequence sets the tone for the enduring fantasy saga," says Imaginary Forces, the studio behind its making, of the symbolism.
"When showrunner Rafe Judkins asked us to design a main title that would present the fantasy series on screen, we embraced the idea of weaving themes of magic and matriarchy into the opening," reveals the company about the relevance of women in this representation. "Beginning with the breaking of the world, a single strand of horizon snaps, bursting into a series of jewel-toned threads as they overlap on a loom of cosmic scale. Within our concept of a vast tapestry, power is channels and patterns emerge.
But what is really hidden behind these seven females located in a circle? "The seven Ajah colors of the women's Aes Sedai intertwine before the image unravels to reveal our reimagined logo: an endless serpent coil. And so 'The Wheel' weaves how you want..., all to begin with." the cycle again.
