Critique of 'elite short stories: Phillipe Caye Felipe': opens a love triangle that will give a lot to talk

The first of the Christmas short stories of 'elite' arrives at Netflix on December 16

‘Élite’ es una de las series más vistas y demandadas de Netflix. La cantera de actores que han pasado por ella es enorme, y con cada temporada se amplía más y más. Aunque hay mucha gente que reconoce ver la serie como guilty pleasure, es cierto que el público acompaña y, no en vano, ya sabemos que habrá más temporadas este 2022. But, to keep his mouth open with what will come to us, Netflix has again bet on short chapters that act as a bridge between one season and another. This is how a new batch of 'elite short stories' will arrive in three parts, and here we leave you with our critique of Phillipe Caye Felipe's short stories.

Starring Pol Granch and Georgina Amorós, they play Prince Phillipe and Cayetana in the series. But there are also new signings with the names of Alex Monner, who plays the role of Felipe, and Celia Sastre, who plays Lara. Around these four characters revolves the story, divided into three chapters, and which will end with the promise to fans of a new love triangle. But let's split it up.

PUBLICIDAD

The first episode shows us Caye and Rebe going to a Christmas market to donate clothes. Behind the counter is Felipe, a handsome and unangry boy, but very rude to the people he is going to donate. Right in front of them, he throws two people out for wearing bad clothes. "this is not a dumpster" he keeps repeating. When it's their turn, Felipe has an instant crush on Caye. And Rebe, honoring the character, ends up messing with Caye to work with him at the market, making it clear how well he knows how well he can sew and that he could help.

Meanwhile, we also met Phillipe in the car with his mother, arguing as usual, when they are about to run over a girl who has lost her dog. Phillipe, with his characteristic nose, gets out of the car and helps the girl look for her dog, just so she can annoy her mother. He's even able to shout Republic to the four winds, as it's the dog's name. In the end, as we could all find out, the dog search takes them right to the Christmas market, where Caye and Phillipe meet again, at an awkward and strange moment.

Phillipe's jealousy

We've already discovered in the previous season how possessive Phillipe is, and how he hates being told no when there's something he wants. That got him into more than one problem, and it was the trigger that got Caye out of the relationship, and in this Christmas special, we see Phillipe not only remains the same, but hasn't forgotten Cayenta. Seeing the good relationship he has with Felipe, the volunteer of the market, he decides to donate two full donkeys of luxury clothes, so that Caye can see that he is not a selfish person.

Cayetana obviously feels terrible and asks Felipe to return everything. If he helps you, he invites you to dinner. That's when we realize that the one who's going to suffer the most in these three episodes is Felipe's character, who is already completely in love with Caye. But she still doesn't forget Phillipe, no matter how hard she works on it. Felipe and Cayetana go to a fancy restaurant for dinner, and those are the best moments of the episode, when we see the two of us relaxed and trying to have a good time. Alex Monner goes from one to the next in this Christmas special, and at times reminds us of his great performance of 'Red Pulseras'. All of it to end up on the market one more time... With Phillipe volunteering.

Too toxic a relationship

Viewers still Don't forgive Phillipe for what he did last season. Not only did he try to abuse Caye, but he ended up admitting that he sexually abused another girl in the past. And perhaps that is the main problem of this special: seeking to reconcile ourselves with a character who has committed such atrocities. Although Christmas seems to be a time for forgiveness and new opportunities. Phillipe continues to freak out Cayetana during the market, and Felipe ends up realizing that Caye has not forgotten. I mean, there's nothing to do.

And though Caye sings forty to the Prince, he does not give his arm to twist, and insists that he is still in love with her. Caye, though hesitant, fires him with one: let's just be friends. Which will be almost the same sentence Philip fired her, aware that she has not overcome her love for Phillipe. And, with a very big picture of Caye's Christmas film walking down the street alone with a suitcase on your back, this first special ends. It is clear that this triangle will give a lot to talk about in season 5, as Alex Monner's presence is confirmed.

We just hope Caye realizes Phillipe doesn't deserve his time and 'elite' doesn't continue to delve into his toxic relationship. This new Netflix experiment works well, especially thanks to the short duration of its chapters, which help make history rhythm and entertaining. Alex Monner stands out above the rest, and the offshoring is very careful. It's a good thing to put these stories on Christmas, of course, and it's always fun to meet with characters like Caye. There is a need for a greater role for Rebe, and perhaps Lara's new character is very wasted, as he has only 3 minutes on screen.

Now we only have to wait for the next two rounds of 'elite brief stories' of which, of course, you will also have your criticism.
